Hopefully, My Last Blog

Edit page

This isn’t my first blog.

I’ve started more blogs than I can remember, across more platforms than I care to count. I began writing when MySpace was still a thing (yeah, that old). From there, I moved through Pixnet, Blogger, WordPress.org and WordPress.com.

Pixnet was probably the most successful one. I wrote consistently — travel posts, hotel booking guides, things I learned every day, quotes and books I read. The blog made me a little money. Eventually, though, the platform buried everything under its own ads. The UI became so cluttered that I could barely see my own writing and photos anymore.

I migrated to Blogger. Apparently Google didn’t care much about its own blogging platform — it never monetized. So I got discouraged and walked away.

A few years later, I missed writing. I bounced around different systems, trying to rebuild what I had. But I kept getting into my own way — buying domains, setting up servers, buying wordpress themes and plugins — the setup alone stressed me out even before I publish a single post.

The internet has changed a lot, and I’ve been too busy to keep up. I’m not even sure how SEO works these days. Blogging feels dated next to social media. But I still miss the act of writing — sitting with words and actually finishing a thought.

So I’m starting here. Astro + Cloudflare. Simple setup, no overhead, no excuses. Hopefully this one sticks.
